According to Mark Maske of the Washington Post, the Redskins have restructured Santana Moss’ contract that will keep him around a little longer. The Redskins continue to free up cap space, restructuring the contract of veteran wide receiver Santana Moss, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed. Moss was entering the final season of a three-year deal and would have counted for $6.1 million against the salary cap. But by restructuring his deal, Washington has saved $2 million. The Redskins entered last week roughly $3 million over the salary cap and then re-signed five players with expiring deals and tendered another. Moss has flourished as a slot reciever in Kyle Shanahan’s offense and he clearly knows that no other team can use him the way the Skins do.  Smart move by him to stick around.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter =...

Report: Moss restructures

David Elfin is reporting Washington Redskins WR Santana Moss has restructured his contract, allowing him to remain with the team in 2013 and slice another $2 million off Washington's cap figure, as the team struggles to get as far under the salary cap as possible.  Moss,33, signed a 3-year/$15 million contract in 2011 and has given the team almost 1700 yards and 10 TD receptions...

Highlights of Shanahan-Allen press conference

Washington Redskins General Manager Bruce Allen ripped the NFL and the NFL Players Association at a 4.30 press conference today, calling the $36 million salary cap penalty levied against the Redskins a year ago a "travesty of fairness." Redskins WR Santana Moss Takes Pay Cut

The Washington Redskins on Tuesday restructured the contract of wide receiver Santana Moss. According to Mike Jones and Mark Maske, the restructure does not add any years onto Moss' contract but instead converts $2 million of his 2013 salary into incentives. This saves the Redskins $2 million against the salary cap, and since Mike Shanahan said Monday that they were about $1...
