It is being reported by Washington Post Insiders Mark Maske and Mike Jones that people familiar with the MRI say that Robert Griffin III suffered partial ACL and LCL tears. RG3 is currently on his way to be examined by Dr. James Andrews in Florida tomorrow, and so nothing is official or being announced by the team. It’s not clear whether full reconstructive surgery will be necessary, and everyone is hoping to find that out soon. Maske and Jones’ sources told them:One person with knowledge of the situation said Griffin might have to undergo exploratory surgery to determine the extent of the damage and whether the injuries are new. Another said Griffin hopes to avoid full-blown reconstructive surgery if the tears are partial, even if they are new injuries.A third person familiar with the case, asked whether the ligament damage is new or a matter of previous injuries showing up on Griffin’s MRI, said: “That’s what we’re trying to find out.”Shanahan said during his press conference on Monday that he doesn’t know the extent of the damage and it appears the public will have to wait for any official announcement. It’s too bad that RG3 suffered such a significant injury so late in the year, and it will be necessary for the Washington Redskins to protect him more in the future with their play calling. FedEx Field will also need to look at some new grass or turf, because that abysmal playing surface probably played a role in this injury. Otherwise, RG3′s future in the NFL could come into serious question if injuries continue to mount up.H/T: The Washington Post

ESPN has issued a statement indicating that the network is parting ways with Rob Parker, indicating that his comments about Robert Griffin III’s blackness had a lot to do with it.
During the final minutes of the Redskins loss to the Seahawks on Sunday, RG3 was injured in a horrific manner. The extent of the injury isn’t known yet, but we are very positive that knees aren’t supposed to bend like they do below.
