Tim Tebow has been invited to Mark Sanchez's ''Jets West'' passing camp this summer and is expected to attend.
A person with knowledge of the invitation said Monday that Sanchez extended the invite to Tebow. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the invitation was not made public.
Sanchez has held the camp in California each of the last two years. Four Jets quarterbacks attended in 2011.
The Jets acquired Tebow in March to be a backup to fourth-year QB Sanchez and to run some plays in the wildcat/option offense. Both have been heavily involved in voluntary offseason workouts at the team facility in New Jersey, and ''Jets West'' is an extension of those practices.
New York is installing a new offense under coordinator Tony Sparano, hired to replace Brian Schottenheimer after last season.
Most of the Jets' skill-position players are expected to attend Sanchez's camp, although it's uncertain if top receiver Santonio Holmes will be there. Holmes had feuded with several players on offense last season, but all of them have said there is no lingering animosity.
Holmes has yet to attend any of the organized team activities in New Jersey.
Sanchez has looked sharp during the workouts, while Tebow has been inconsistent throwing the ball.
''I know he's going to help us all over the field,'' Sanchez said of Tebow.''
The invitation previously was reported by several media outlets.

For the third straight year, Mark Sanchez and his family will be hosting a collection of New York Jets offensive players for “Jets West” Camp. It has become a yearly tradition for Sanchez to gather his teammates in the weeks leading up training camp to review the offense, hold practices and spend roughly a week together. He organizes the whole thing, takes care of the scheduling...
Since being drafted in 2009, Mark Sanchez has developed something of a tradition. Each offseason the Jets quarterback gathers up several of his teammates, flies them out to southern California, and puts the group up at fancy accommodations, footing nearly all of the costs.
While it sounds like a nice, luxurious getaway (and an extremely nice gesture), the real basis for the...

Sanchez, the New York Jets‘ starting quarterback, extended an invitation to every skill-position player on the team, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com’s Rich Cimini and Tebow has agreed to attend as earlier reported by The New York Daily News.
Last year, four quarterbacks...
If being in New York is not enough, the Jets have found a way to get even more attention–by adding quarterback Tim Tebow. The Jets have been one of the most talked about franchises this offseason mainly because they were able to acquire one of the league’s most popular players.
Multiple players on this squad receive way too much media attention and are viewed as more valuable...

Sanchez invited Tebow to the weeklong workouts that Sanchez and his family have staged the past two offseasons at Mission Viejo High School, where Sanchez played before going to USC, the New York Daily News reported. Tebow...
New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow made an appearance at the Hope for Children Gala in New York City Monday night and while there, he was interviewed by Shira Lazar of something called What’s Trending, which is some kind of newfangled online, interactive talk show. A myriad of topics are covered during the interview and [...]

passing camp this summer and is expected to attend.
Santonio Holmes may not feel Tim Tebow should be part of private training sessions attended by the Jets’ key players, as evident by Holmes’ choice to not include Tebow in a non-team sanctioned training weekend in Orlando two months ago, but Mark Sanchez feels much differently. The Jets starting QB has asked his backup to attend the third annual “Jets West” passing...
