The Lions have at least one vacancy in their quarterback depth chart behind starter Matthew Stafford. Drew Stanton agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New York Jets on Friday, according to reports in New York. Stanton is expected to be the No. 2 quarterback behind Jets starter Mark Sanchez. Both Stanton and Shaun Hill, the Lions No. 2 quarterback, were free agents. Hill was in St. Louis on Thursday and Friday to meet with the Rams. Stanton was the Lions second-round draft pick of Michigan State in 2007 but played sparingly, partly because of injuries. Stanton missed all of his rookie season with a knee injury sustained in training camp. Stantons only sustained playing time with the Lions came near the end of the 2010 season when he started three games. He started three games -- the only starts of his career -- and led the Lions to victories over the Packers and Buccaneers.
