The Ravens and Steelers compete at least twice a season as division rivals during the NFL regular season, and now according to reports, they’ll be competing for the top pass rusher on the open market also. Because of a paperwork and fax issue, Elvis Dumervil is now a free agent.  Multiple reports from the Baltimore Sun are indicating that the Steelers have joined the Ravens in the Dumervil sweepstakes. The Steelers are in need of an outside pass rusher after releasing James Harrison right before the start of free agency. The Ravens’ biggest rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, are also interested in Dumervil after cutting outside linebacker James Harrison as a salary-cap casualty prior to the free agent signing period, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Structuring a contract high enough for Dumervil could be tough for either team because of tight salary-cap situations, but teams can always make adjustments to their roster by cutting players if they need to mak...

Detroit Lions Should Explore Adding Elvis Dumervil

If not for a big mistake by the Denver Broncos and a fax machine, there wouldn’t even be a conversation about Elvis Dumervil being on the open market. But, late Friday afternoon, a mistake happened and Dumervil went from being extended to becoming the best free agent pass rusher available. The dominating defensive end was scheduled to make $8 million dollars. The Lions, after...

Broncos, Dumervil still in talks

Somehow, through it all, the Denver Broncos and Elvis Dumervil are still on speaking terms. The fax machine relationship clearly wasn’t working. After a second denial by the NFL to reconsider the Broncos and Dumervil’s case, and after Dumervil fired his previous agent and hired Tom Condon, the team and their defensive end are still in talks, The Denver Post reports. Dumervil...
