According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers and running back Rashard Mendenhall have been talking and are committed to working on a contract extension since he’s scheduled to become a free agent after this season. Despite being suspended for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys, Rashard Mendenhall and the Pittsburgh Steelers are communicating and committing to meaningful contractual conversation with the running back’s deal expiring this offseason, according to sources. The fact the two sides are communicating is an encouraging sign, because it didn’t happen the two weeks leading up to Mendenhall’s one-game suspension. He will be an unrestricted free agent after this season. The Steelers have been doing pretty well this season without Mendenhall being on the field that much.  I would say they have the majority of the leverage when it comes down to working on a long-term deal.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement(&#...
