Free agency 2013 is about to get underway at midnight, as teams are allowed to begin visiting with players. Techinically, nobody who is eligible for free agency can be signed until March 12, but there will be a ton of information being passed around over the next several days until ink and paper can meet. The only news happening now surrounds teams trying to create more room with this year’s salary cap. It appears the latest big name casualty will be Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison. According to a report from USA Today, the Steelers and Harrison have been trying hard to workout a new deal, but zero progress has been made. Harrison has been with the Steelers his entire career, and is a 2-time All-Pro. He is turning 35 in May, and has seen his production slip in the last couple of years. He is scheduled to make $6.57 million in 2013, and the Steelers want him to take a cut to help the team negotiate with other free agents, but he is refusing.
