The Tampa Bay Buccaneers earned an impressive 30-28 victory over the New England Patriots on Friday night, but it came at a big price.

Pro Bowl guard Davin Joseph suffered a knee injury in the second quarter and had to be carted off the field. It looks as though the injury is season-ending and Joseph will be placed on injured reserve, as first reported by NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport.

This is a huge blow to Tampa Bay for many reasons. Joseph and newly-acquired Pro Bowl guard Carl Nicks were supposed to give the Bucs the best interior O-line in football. Now, his loss will hurt quarterback Josh Freeman's protection on the right side and affect the Bucs' ability to play smash mouth football in the run game.

The Bucs haven't made it official yet, but head coach Greg Schiano said in his post-game press conference that it "doesn't look good" for Joseph and that the team will do more tests on Saturday.

The Bucs also saw defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and defensive end Adrian Clayborn go down with injuries in the first half. Both players went into the locker room at one point, but returned to the sidelines and their injuries are not thought to be serious or long-term.
