With Tim Tebow coming to New York, Jets backup quarterback Drew Stanton may be headed out of the Big Apple.
Stanton is considering asking for a trade or a release, NFL.com's Jason La Canfora reported, citing a league source.
Signed to a one-year deal with the team just last week, Stanton was expected to serve as Mark Sanchez's backup.
Stanton accepted less money to come to New York because, according to the report, general manager Mike Tannebaum said that the Jets were not going to bring in another quarterback via trade or draft.
Stanton won two of his three career starts with the Detroit Lions.
