John McClain reports that Texans S Ed Reed underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair a small labral tear in his hip last week. McClain adds that Reed should be ready to return in time for the team’s training camp. “It’s something we’ll have to work through,” said coach Gary Kubiak. “We’ll get him healthy, and he should be fine.“ Reed, 34, signed a three-year deal worth $15 million back in March. Houston added some additional safety help in the draft when they selected D.J. Swearinger out of South Carolina in the second-round. It’s a good sign that Reed is expected to participate in training camp, but I’m sure they won’t rush to him to be available. Swearinger could obviously use some additional snaps in the coming to ensure that he’s prepared for the regular season.     The post Report: Texans S Ed Reed Underwent Surgery On His Hip appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Tale of the Tape: Texans RB UDFAs

The story around the NFL last week was about the 2013 NFL Draft.  In Houston, the draft garnered excitement as well, but it was what the organization did afterwards that caught my eye.  The Texans have one of the top running backs in the NFL in Arian Foster and another young talented back in Ben Tate.  Foster led all running backs in touches in 2012 and Ben Tate can’t seem to...
