According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the Houston Texans have traded Pro Bowl linebacker DeMeco Ryans to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are sending the Texans a mid-round pick in return for Ryans. Sounds like a good deal for both teams. The reason I could think of why the Texans decided to trade Ryans is because he wasn’t a great fit in defensive coordinator Wade Phillips’ 3-4 defensive scheme.

The Philadelphia Eagles will acquire linebacker DeMeco Ryans from the Houston Texans for a fourth-round pick in the 2012 draft, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported on Tuesday. A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Ryans recorded 64 tackles last season after coming back from an Achilles injury. Ryans, 27, has 636 tackles, 8.5 sacks and two interceptions during his six-year career.
