NFL Trade Rumors:
Jason La Canfora reports that the Tennessee Titans intend to exercise RB Chris Johnson‘s contract that will pay him $10 million in 2013.
La Canfora adds that $9 million of Johnson’s salary will be guaranteed as of February 9th.
The Titans have maintained all along that they planned on keeping Johnson next season. There was, however, plenty of speculation that he could be released given the guarantees in his contract, but doesn’t appear to be the case.
Johnson, 27, was able to go over the 1,000 yard mark for the fifth time in as many seasons, but there are questions as to whether or not he’s still same player he was a few years ago. Pro Football Focus actually rated him as the second worst qualifying running back this season, which further illustrates these concerns.
Tennessee figures to revamp their offensive line this year, so it’s safe to assume that Johnson will be entering a make-or-break season in 2013.

1. Offensive Guard
The Tennessee Titans running game has stalled over the past few years, and while some of the blame should fall on Chris Johnson, he hasn’ t been supported by the offensive line. Steve Hutchinson is a Hall of Famer, but he’s 35 and doesn’t have much left in the tank. Chance Warmack could be an option in the first round.
2. Strong Safety

Titus Young says he’s better than Megatron, and now he may get the chance to prove it. Per Jason La Canfora, the St. Louis Rams have picked Young up off Waivers.
I’m sure Jeff Fisher will institute some type of behavior clause in whatever contract they workout, but here’s Young’s opportunity to show out.
Jason La Canfora reports the Rams met with former Browns DC Dick Jauron regarding their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Jauron actually did a pretty decent job with the Browns defense and fits Jeff Fisher‘s defensive philosophy better than Rob Ryan did.
