EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The Minnesota Vikings were left with only two wide receivers accounting for 27 catches last season on their roster after Monday's trade of Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks.
Minnesota increased that number to three Tuesday.
The Vikings re-signed receiver Jerome Simpson to a one-year contract hours before the start of free agency, according to multiple reports. Simpson, 27, had 26 catches for 274 yards last season in his first year in Minnesota. Terms of the deal have not been announced.
