The struggling Minnesota Vikings' secondary is getting more help. Multiple reports Wednesday indicated Minnesota has agreed to a one-year deal with former Baltimore Ravens cornerback Chris Carr. Carr, 28, had 19 tackles and three pass deflections last season while being limited by injuries to nine games with Baltimore. The 5-foot-10, 182-pound Carr had reportedly visited the team two weeks ago but left town without a deal. He's the second corner to sign with the Vikings in the past two weeks. Minnesota signed Zack Bowman from the Chicago Bears to a one-year deal last week, adding more bodies to a secondary which has struggled to stay healthy and tied for the fewest interceptions in the NFL last season. The Vikings have Antoine Winfield returning from neck surgery, and the other starter is likely to be Chris Cook, who was acquitted on domestic abuse charges last month. Winfield will turn 35 before the season begins, and Cook has played only 12 career games since being drafted in the second round of the 2010 draft. Minnesota also has Asher Allen, Marcus Sherels, Brandon Burton, Reggie Jones and Nick Taylor competing for spots at cornerback. Carr has played for three teams in his seven-year NFL career after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Boise State by the Oakland Raiders in 2005. He started all 16 games for the Ravens in 2010 and has six career interceptions. Carr's 2010 season, when he had two interceptions and eight pass deflections, earned him a four-year deal with the Ravens. But after his injury-marred 2011, Baltimore cut Carr last month. "Really excited to be a Viking!" he tweeted Wednesday. "Seems like a great organization, like always I will give 100 mentally and physically."Signing players who are coming off of injuries has been a familiar approach for Minnesota, which is hoping to find bargains on the free-agent market. Tight end John Carlson and offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz were both signed after missing all of last season due to injury. Follow Brian Hall on Twitter.
