The legal filing by New Orleans linebacker Jonathan Vilma that asks for Paul Tagliabue's removal from the bounty appeals hearings includes a scathing email from an ex-Saints assistant that restarted the league investigation, according to ProFootballTalk.com. In a brief obtained by the web site, an email dated Nov. 2, 2011 is included in which former Saints assistant coach Mike Cerullo writes to NFL spokesman Greg Aiello about the team's alleged bounty system. "So I have info on Saints Joe Vitt Lying to your NFL Investigators on Bounties from 2010, along with proof!!!" Cerullo writes in the email. "I was there, in the cover up meetings, with players and Joe, I love the NFL and want to work there again, but I am afraid if I tell the [sic] truth I will never coach again in NFL. But I was fired for a situation that the Saints encourage. All I want is a Job back in the NFL as a [quarterbacks] Coach anywhere, so If talking to you jeopardizes [sic] that I will ha...

Week 9 TE Rankings – start and sit – waiver wire help

Another week has gone bye, and once again the tight end position remains the one with the most fluctuation.  A large amount of the TE points are based on TD’s, so you will notice plenty of top 10 guys for week 9 that have been catching consistent TD passes from their QB’s.  After 8 weeks of fantasy football, we have a pretty good idea who is being targeted in the red zone,...

New Orleans Saints: Week 9 NFL Power Rankings (#22)

Last week: 19 (-3) Record: 2-5 I guess beating the Broncos is a lot harder than beating the Chargers and Buccaneers for a still overrated Saints team (heavy public action on New Orleans +6 last week). The rank 31st in the league in yards per play differential and 27th in rate of sustaining drives differential, mostly because of a defense that allows the most yards per play in the...

DENVER (34) d NEW ORLEANS (14) The Headline: Denver… looking pretty good then… The Story: Joe Vitt was back and ready to coach the team through the end of the season after a rough start. Well unfortunately they ran into a Broncos team that had just clicked and was near unstoppable at home. The defense came out and shut down the Saints top ranked offense with some brutal hits...

Andy Reid confirms: Mike Vick to remain Eagles’ starting quarterback

Mike Vick will remain the starter over rookie Nick Foles. Andy Reid quieted the unending speculation surrounding Mike Vick’s fate despite an off day for the team and confirmed that Vick would start for the team on Monday versus the New Orleans Saints. The questions began swirling shortly after the team fell to 30-17 at the Linc on Sunday and Vick responded to a question about his...

Saints Nation: Offensive Player Grades @ Broncos

What we saw Sunday was quite possibly the worst offensive performance of the Drew Brees era. The unit looked out of synch all game and hurt themselves by not making plays that were there to make. Protection was actually decent, as they did a good job limiting Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil for the most part. But every time a play was there to be made, a critical drop, a poor play...

NFL Rumors: Can Sean Payton Save the New Orleans Saints in 2013?

The New Orleans Saints bountygate scandal has been in the forefront of the NFL news since this past offseason. Head coach Sean Payton is currently serving a one-year league imposed suspension from the team while an array of interim head coaches are filling in during his absence. The Saints team this season looks horrible, and the question going forward has to be whether or not Sean...
