A reporter has since apologized for his statements earlier in the day, but that doesn't mean we can't discuss the merits of them. Reporter Paul Zeise stated that "It's really a sad day in this country when somehow ... Michael Vick would have been better off raping a woman if you look at the outcry of what happened. Had he done that, he probably would have been suspended for four games and he'd be back on the field. But because this has become a political issue, all of a sudden the commissioner has lost his stomach for it." I can't really say I disagree with him. It has happened where a pro athlete has been charged with worse crimes, such as rape, and been allowed to continue playing. Where do we draw the line?
