According to reports, the 49ers have lost conerback Chris Culliver for the season due to a knee injury.
Reports from ESPN.com and NFL.com say Culliver tore his left ACL during Thursday's workouts and will undergo surgery that will keep him off the field for the season. No date has been set for the surgery, according to the reports.
The 49ers are dealing with several injuries during training camp, including linebacker Patrick Willis, who is dealing with a hand injury.
Culliver was covering a punt and getting blocked by rookie Marcus Cooper when he went down in pain, holding his left knee and burying his head in his hands.
Coach Jim Harbaugh and players looked on as trainers attended to Culliver, who also had his right shoulder and pectoral area examined late in Wednesday's practice. General manager Trent Baalke consoled Culliver before Culliver was carted off the field and taken to Stanford hospital for an MRI.
