NFL.com’s Steve Whyche, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Antwan Odom may avoid a suspension since the banned substance he tested positive for came from a prescribed subscription. Whyche claims Odom takes prescribed medications for specific medical conditions, but his sources wouldn’t go into further details about which conditions he had. Whyche explained the league’s policy in his article that makes it seem like Odom will avoid the four-game suspension from the league. There is a provision in the NFL’s banned substance policy that allows players to take prescription medicines that could contain banned substances or elements of a banned substance. Reports indicated yesterday Odom was facing a possible four-game suspension after testing positive for a banned substance.
