(Sports Network) - Soon-to-be suspended Saints head coach Sean Payton could reportedly meet with Bill Parcells about the possibility of the two-time Super Bowl winner taking over in New Orleans on an interim basis.
Payton was suspended for the entire 2012 season for his role in the Saints' bounty scandal. The club has yet to name an interim head coach and the reason might be Parcells.
Both the NFL Network and ESPN have reported that Parcells could potentially return to the sideline in Payton's absence. Parcells worked as a television analyst this year after leaving his position as the head of football operations with the Miami Dolphins.
Payton was a key member of Parcells' staff with the Dallas Cowboys from 2003-05 before becoming head coach of the Saints in 2006.
According to the reports, the two could talk this week at the owners' meetings in Florida.
Payton's suspension is set to begin April 1. He could still appeal the penalty.

Saints Nation: Praying for Parcells
It's been no secret I'm a huge fan of the idea that Bill Parcells come to the Saints for one season only to replace a suspended Sean Payton. To quickly recap my thoughts about why this is a perfect fit:
1. Sean Payton and Bill Parcells are close friends, share the same coaching philosophy, and Payton views Parcells as a mentor.2. Parcells, at 70, is still completely present...

Bill Parcells Coming Out of Retirement One More Time?
When the hammer was dropped on the New Orleans Saints for the bounty scandal the dreaded Super Bowl host curse appeared to have reared its ugly head again with the team losing its head coach for a year (not to mention any player punishments that still might come).Lucky for the Saints, a curse busting option may be available to them.
Prior to the decision being handed down by the...

Goodell: Saints lies continued “into the past several weeks”
The old saying is always “it isn’t the crime, it’s the cover-up.” That seems to be what has happened to the New Orleans Saints, as they kept lying to NFL and commissioner Goodell as the investigation into Bountygate continued.

Watercooler Sports - Severe Punishment For The Saints
In the wake of bounty-gate, the NFL came down almost unimaginably hard on the New Orleans Saints and everyone connected with them.

I’m gonna go with my instincts on this one – the Tigers aren’t winning the World Series.
