Fox Sports North:
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The Minnesota Vikings apparently have finally reeled in former Green Bay Packers receiver Tori Gurley.
Gurley was reportedly signed to Minnesota's practice squad on Saturday and he tweeted the news of joining the Vikings side of the NFC North rivalry. The 6-foot-4 receiver was among Green Bays final cuts on Friday.
"I would like to Thank the Packers & the Packer Fans for a great time in GB but now it's time to get the ball rolling with the Vikings!!!" Gurley wrote on his Twitter page (@TGurley81). "Proud to be the newest member of the Minnesota Vikings!!!"
Gurley, 24, rejected a contract offer and spot on the active 53-man roster from Minnesota last season to stay on the Packers practice squad. The Vikings wanted to give Gurley his first chance on an NFL active roster after being decimated at the wide receiver. Gurley stayed with Green Bay and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.
Undrafted in 2011 out of South Carolina, Gurley came back to training camp with the Packers this season. He had one catch for six yards while playing in two preseason games for Green Bay.
Minnesota has a lot of uncertainty at the position behind playmaking receiver Percy Harvin. The Vikings signed Jerome Simpson in the offseason, but hes suspended for the first three games. Veteran Michael Jenkins will likely start in Simpsons absence, but his speed appears sapped after knee surgery. After that, young receivers Devin Aromashodu, Stephen Burton and Jarius Wright make up the rest of the receiving corps for second-year quarterback Christian Ponder.

The Vikings finished last season at an abysmal 3-13, 3rd worst in the league. Their passing game and their defense were terrible, and their star running back tore both his ACL and MCL on Christmas Eve.But this is a new season, and every team starts off with an equal opportunity to prove themselves. For the Vikings, this year is NOT the year. However, that does not mean that their...
In their final cuts of the 2012 roster, the Green Bay Packers released 14 offensive players compared to just four from the defensive side of the ball. The final cut list included six players who had NFL experience, two who had five or more years playing in the NFL and now the Green Bay Packers have the roster set for the championship seasons to continue.
The Green Bay Packers...
The Minnesota Vikings announced their 53 man roster yesterday as they prepare for their season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 9. Some notable cuts are veterans cornerback Chris Carr and quarterback Sage Rosenfels.
Now that the Vikings have finally gotten their roster to the legal limit to open the season, it will be interesting to see how they do. The Vikings...
Could the Green Bay Packers be in the market for another quarterback to add to their roster? On Friday, all 32 NFL teams had to trim their rosters to the 53-man limit and a few interesting quarterback possibilities were made available if the Packers aren’t completely sold on Graham Harrell. Harrell is the only quarterback other than Aaron Rodgers currently on the Packers roster...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Now that Packers general manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy have sorted out their 53-man roster for this season, there are still plenty of strengths from a team that finished 15-1 during the 2011 regular season. However, Green Bay fell short of its goal to become back-to-back Super Bowl champions and have a few areas that could be a concern this...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- With eight practice squad spots available for general manager Ted Thompson to fill, the Packers kept seven of their own training camp players and added one other.
The new addition to Green Bays roster is former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman, Chris Scott. At 6-foot-5 and 332 pounds, Scott is listed as a combination offensive tackle and guard.
Green Bay Packer backup quarterback Graham Harrell stepped up last night and proved he is ready for the regular season to begin. Graham Harrell lead the Green Bay Packer offense to a 24-3 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the final preseason game Thursday night.
While leading the Green Bay offense, which was full of non starters, Graham Harrell completed 13 passes while...
As the season draws near, NFL on FOX analyst Brian Billick gives his predictions for each division in 2012.
Green Bay Packers It seems odd that the 15-1 Packers are flying below the radar coming into the 2011 season. Save for an uncharacteristic four turnovers against the Giants, the Packers could have advanced to another Super Bowl. Even coming off an early playoff...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Packers had high expectations for Derek Sherrod when the team used its first-round pick on the Mississippi State offensive tackle in the 2011 draft.
But Sherrod's rookie season began without a starting job and ended with a broken leg. He played 115 total plays at left and right tackle as a backup before the injury in Week 15 ended his season early.
After trimming back to 53 players Friday night, the Minnesota Vikings continued to put the finishing touches on their regular-season roster Saturday.
The biggest move was the completion of a trade first reported Friday night: The Vikings acquired third-year cornerback A.J. Jefferson from the Arizona Cardinals for what is reported to be undisclosed draft picks.
Jefferson, who went...
According to Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN Radio, Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier has indicated that running back Adrian Peterson (knee) will be a game time decision this week.
Frazier says #Vikings “without question” will take Adrian Peterson decision up to Sunday.
