My Sports Rumors:
Mark Sanchez had an absolutely brutal day today at the New York Jets OTA. He threw 11 passes and completed six, not great but at least it was over 50%. What made his play so unacceptable was that he threw three interceptions and one of those were to an undrafted defensive tackle.
“This is OTAs and things, but yeah, that’s going to be the pressure that we’re putting on him,” Ryan said. “He did a lot of great things. It’s not that you try to cover up the fact you had some bad plays — no, no, no you flat tell him. We can’t have these and all that type of stuff. He knows.”
One of Sanchez’ picks went to Damon Harrison, a defensive tackle, on a play where Rex said Sanchez should have thrown the ball away. Ryan described that play, and Sanchez’ three picks as a whole, as “disappointing.”
“Yeah, it is. Absolutely. It’s a good thing defense makes the plays, but no, I’d rather him not turn the ball over once,” Ryan said. “He did a lot of great things, and then those negative thing

An anonymous Jets player claims between 80 to 90 percent of the players on the team want Mark Sanchez replaced as the team's starting quarterback.
According to the Newark Star-Ledger, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez threw three interceptions during the team portion of today’s organized team activities. He addressed his poor play after practice.

OFF THE MARK
The always boisterous Jets head coach is not going to wait until the season begins to start riding his underachieving quarterbacks.
During the 2012 NFL campaign, Tim Tebow was ripped by several anonymous Jets teammates in the New York Daily News, creating yet another distraction for the team. Tebow may be gone, but history seems to be repeating itself, this time with Mark Sanchez as the target.
A Jets player who asked not to be identified said that the feeling in the locker room is that Sanchez had his shot,...
New York Jets quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith are now clear where they both stand with the infamous Joe Namath.
Smith has quickly become the people’s champ and the assumed favorite to win the Jets starting job as early as training camp.
Not only is Namath not feeling that concept, he feels that the Jets should not have drafted the rookie at all.
While Namath stated...
Mark Sanchez threw three interceptions and Geno Smith talked about having to improve ''every single thing.''
This New York Jets' quarterback competition sure has a long way to go.
The two quarterbacks considered the front-runners for the starting job didn't exactly impress Wednesday during the Jets' first practice of organized team activities open to...
There’s something interesting news coming out of New York in regards to the Jets quarterback position, and it doesn’t bold well for Mark Sanchez.
The New York Daily News is reporting that Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg has confirmed that the Jets could end up naming their starting quarterback before June and definitely before the start of training camp.
After Mark Sanchez threw 3 interceptions during Wednesday’s OTA practice, naturally head coach Rex Ryan is going to be asked about them. Through the NY Daily News, Ryan calls the interceptions “unacceptable”.
While Ryan gives credit to the defense, he is careful not to take the blame off of Sanchez.
It’s a good thing defense makes the plays, but no, I’d rather him not turn...
Jets legend Joe Namath is back at it, again criticizing his former team. This time, he's saying that the team wasted a draft pick on Geno Smith.
Mark Sanchez threw three interceptions, and Geno Smith talked about all the improvements he needs to make.
Yeah, this New York Jets' quarterback competition sure has a long way to go.
It's early, but the two quarterbacks considered the front-runners for the starting job didn't exactly impress Wednesday during the Jets' first practice of organized team activities...
This may come as a surprise to many people out there, but there are going to be 51 other players on this team come September that are not named Geno Smith or Mark Sanchez. I know, I know, that seems crazy based on the media coverage of this team, but believe me, it is true. And not only that, but those 51 players are going to have a major impact on the fate of the 2013 Jets. Of course...
Joe Namath seems to have ring and all time great New York Jet protection. Namath won a championship for the New York Jets, and probably will go down as the best quarterback the franchise has ever had.
With such credentials, comes the ability to basically voice his opinion anytime he pleases.
Namath is a big supporter of current embattled Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, and told...
With David Garrard now out of the New York Jets' quarterback struggle, and that's exactly the appropriate word for their situation, the team's starting quarterback options are essentially down to incumbent Mark Sanchez or rookie Geno Smith. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets may pick their starting quarterback before training camp. Offensive...
Here at Turn On The Jets, we decided to take a page out of Robert Mays book over at Grantland (a polite way of saying rip his article idea off) by counting down the 115 days until the New York Jets kick off, with a daily reason to get excited about their return. Mays has the whole NFL to work with, we only have the Goddamn Jets…now there is a challenge, step your game up Mays...
