Getty Images New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is pretty intrigued about the thought of going for a two-point conversion every time his team scores a touchdown after hearing someone bring up the idea after they acquired Tim Tebow. “I don’t know where it came from but they were like, ‘They ought to go for two every time this year.’ That might make sense,” Ryan said. As tempting as the thought is, Ryan made it clear that they won’t be going for two every time they score a touchdown. “Now, we’re not going to, I can tell you that right now, but I can understand where the guy’s coming from, whoever came up with that, because it’s 11-on-11 football and he’s a 250-pound man who’s running downhill at you, or throwing. That’s the other thing. It’s not just that he can run it but he can throw it as well,” Ryan said.

Obama weighs in on Jets QB situation

President Barack Obama chimed in on the potentially caustic situation the Jets face with having both Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez on the roster.

Why Tebow Will Eventually Start For The Jets

Tebow-mania, Jets training camp, Tebow Tebow Tebow…I think that’s all we hear now-a-days. One of the big questions for the New York Jets this upcoming season is: will Tim Tebow start a game for the Jets and if so, how many? Well today, I will be explaining why phenom Tim Tebow will eventually start a game as QB for the New York Jets. Tebowmania has come to New York (Courtesy...

Tim Tebow and the Wildcat

Tim Tebow is a pretty mediocre quarterback, but he’s a hell of a football player. I thought Denver was nuts to draft him in the first round, as he wasn’t a good investment as a traditional drop back passer. Even so, his competitiveness and athletic ability helped him lead the Broncos to some incredible victories. That said, few teams wanted him after the Broncos jumped on the...

Jets unveil Tebow in goal-line offense

Usually, quarterbacks are off limits to taking hits from the defense during NFL practices, but when the Jets unveiled their goal-line offense on Thursday with Tim Tebow taking the snaps, coach Rex Ryan took the unusual step of telling the defense that the drill was live, meaning they could tackle Tebow. "When he said it was live, that made me smile," said Tebow, according...

The Tim Tebow Obsession

What is it about Tim Tebow that entrances the sporting world? Was it his clutch performances last season in Denver? Does the idea of an avidly religious athlete bring a breath of fresh air? We may not have a straight answer, but let's face the facts: sports journalists can't get enough. Almost every day on SportsCenter, SportsNation or ESPN First Take, Tebow is a top story...

Are the New York Jets just Blowing Smoke?

It’s all over ESPN and now NFL network has got into the mix. Tim Tebow is the most covered back-up player in any position of any sports ever. Ever since he was traded to the New York Jets during this off-season the idea of what Tebow is going to do has been up in the air. We have had rumors of special teams, to starting quarterback. No one really knows what Rex Ryan and the Jets’...

Eli thinks backup David Carr should go topless like Tebow

Eli Manning said he isn't jealous of all of the attention the New York Jets are getting but— while the two-time Super Bowl won't go topless like the now-infamous Tim Tebow photo— the New York Giants starting quarterback thinks his backup, David Carr, should give it a shot to give the team more exposure. "I told David Carr to take his shirt off while we were running...

Rex, Jets quash tensions over Cromartie comments

Rex Ryan put a quick end to a budding controversy. The New York Jets coach addressed his players during a meeting Wednesday, reminding them to consider what they say in the wake of cornerback Antonio Cromartie's remarks that he'd rank himself the second-best wide receiver on the team. Wide receiver Chaz Schilens said Wednesday he felt the comment was a ''slight...

Dustin Pedroia has a picture of his head pasted on Tim Tebow’s shirtless body hanging in his locker

Mesmerizing. So this made the rounds a few days ago. Jets backup QB Tim Tebow makes national headlines for just about anything he does, so you know their was a media firestorm when he was filmed running shirtless in the rain, his rippling muscles covered in a mixture of sweat and precipitation.  For his part, Tebow couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about, but with a potential...

Inside Look: ESPN’s Idiotic Coverage Of New York Jets Training Camp

For everybody who was happy the New York Jets passed on Hard Knocks because of the excessive coverage it brought to training camp, they clearly didn’t realize the ESPN controversy stewing idiot box would be camped out in Cortland 24/7. By the way, have you seen this trailer for Miami Dolphins Hard Knocks? Can you name one player you see? Can you stay awake listening to Joe...

Rex passes on razzing Obama about Jets comments

Rex Ryan is no trash talker when it comes to the president. A day after President Barack Obama told an Ohio radio station that he is not a fan of Tim Tebow being on the New York Jets, the normally brash and bold coach resisted taking the expected humorous swipe. Instead, Ryan says Friday that he respects Obama and ''I respect the fact that this is opinion.'' Wait...

President Barack Obama Predicts 'Tension' With Tim Tebow in Jets' Quarterback Battle, Is Amazed by Olympic Gymnastics

The United States has seen its fair share of sporting presidents, but never one who fills out March Madness brackets on ESPN. That's why it isn't surprising to find out that Barack Obama made an appearance on WNBS, a radio station out of Columbus, Ohio, on Friday morning to discuss all manner of sports topics. Among other things, we learned that the commander-in-chief sees...

New York Jets: What's With All The Hype?

If you've flipped through the cable sports coverage on NFL training camps in the New York area, you'd have been hard pressed to find much detailed information on your favorite team. Unless you're a New York Jets fan that is. The popularity of “tabloid journalism” makes it clear why the public at large is subject to so much Jets coverage.  Certainly, the Jets have...

5 Stories That People Need to Stop Talking About

DISCLAIMER: I realize the irony that I’m writing more about stories that don’t need to be written anymore about. I hope my points can act as the final nail in the coffin so we can bury these stories and never have to talk about them again. Please, continue. Call me a cynic, but lately I’ve been feeling like Will McAvoy from “The Newsroom”(fantastic show on HBO, must watch...
