TEAMS: New York Jets
Every game the Jets lose deeper into the season, the stronger the Tim Tebow vs. Mark Sanchez debates heat up.  For the past three season, Jets fans are not used to being 3-5 at this time of the season and feeling low going into a bye week.  I was at the game yesterday, and when the offense was still sputtering in the third quarter and Mark just threw yet another incomplete pass on third down, the boos starting raining down on the veteran QB. Tim Tebow chants were loud.  I was there.  It was LOUD.  It seems like every week Jets fans wonder if this is the week that the Jets make a move and start Tebow as the starter.  Mark Sanchez’s days appear to be numbered, but Jets fans say that the only chance to save the season is to put the most famous “savior” of last years season, Timothy Richard Tebow. I am convinced that as long as Rex Ryan is the head coach of the New York Jets, Mark Sanchez will remain the starter.  Rex and this front office moved up in the 2009 draft to select Mark and to bench him at any time is to declare failure and that they made a mistake.  I don’t think Rex’s pride could take it.  Rex says that HIS is the only opinion that matters on that subject.  I wonder if Woody Johnson believes that. Offensively, the problems aren’t one man,” Ryan said Monday. “If it was one man, that would be easy to do. But it’s not on one person. Sometimes, we’re accurate with the football (and) we drop some passes. Sometimes, the pass might not have been as accurate as we wanted it to be. Then there’s times when our protection let us down.” ~ Rex Ryan Sanchez has been far from perfect, but as 1 high level member of Jets organization told me, a lot of pieces around him are “garbage” #nyj — Manish Mehta(@MMehtaNYDN) October 29, 2012 More Comments on Twitter: Starting Tim Tebow over Mark Sanchez won’t fix the Jets’ quarterback mess — only the 2013 draft can do that #nyj aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2012… — SN’s Vinnie Iyer (@vinnieiyer) October 29, 2012   ESPNStatsInfo Tebow time? #Jets QB Mark Sanchez:Total QBR of 12.1 in Sunday’s loss (his 12th game under 15, most in NFL since 2009) 10/28/12 7:05 PM   SportsGeek33 To cut Rex some slack, he did the right thing by trying to bring Stanton in to push Sanchez. Then Woody sold him out with Tebow. #Jets 10/29/12 11:43 AM   markkiszla Uh-oh. Jets coach Rex Ryan just gave Mark Sanchez the “best chance to win” endorsement. Know what that means? It’s Tebow time. Jets coach Ryan still sticking with QB Sanchez

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said in Monday's teleconference that he is sticking with Mark Sanchez as the starting quarterback, but backup Tim Tebow could get a bigger role. "I think Mark's our guy, there's no doubt about that," Ryan said via the Newark Star-Ledger. Ryan said that Sanchez was "fairly accurate" when he got enough time to throw....

NFL Midseason Report Card 2012: New York Jets

How would you grade the 2012 NFL midseason report card for the New York Jets? Is there a grade low enough? Do they deserve an F? After all, they are only one game below .500 this season. So, would a failing grade be fair? I think a more realistic grade for the Jets through the half way point in the 2012 NFL season may be that of an incomplete. As in, the Jets are an incomplete team...

New York Jets: Week 9 NFL Power Rankings (#24)

Last week: 24 (-1) Record: 3-5 I have no idea why they haven’t benched Mark Sanchez for Tim Tebow yet. Mark Sanchez is completing 53% of his passes. Only Brandon Weeden has a worse adjusted QB rating. The team is 3-5. They brought Tebow in to be an alternative for Sanchez if he struggled right? Well he’s struggling right now. What was the point of bringing him in if you’re...

Tim Tebow On Jaguars' Trade Radar

New York Jets backup QB Tim Tebow is being sought after by Jacksonville, according to an Action News Jacksonville report.Fantasy Spin:Tebow has done very little in New York while playing a varity of positions. He's thrown just three passes and rushed for 78 yards on 23 carries. Jaguars' owner Shad Khan has always been a big Tebow supporter.

No Huddle – New York Jets Disaster Edition

What an embarrassment. The Jets faced Miami with a chance to go 3-1 in the AFC East and head into the bye week at 4-4, having overcome major injuries in the process. In position to fight for a playoff road they battled so hard the past month to stay on a path towards. Instead, they honored the ultimate brave Jet Dennis Byrd, on the day of his jersey retirement ceremony, with a ...

Jets sticking with Sanchez at QB

Changes might be coming for the New York Jets. Mark Sanchez losing his starting job won't be among them. Rex Ryan again stood by his quarterback Monday despite Sanchez's struggles in an ugly mistake-filled 30-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday that left the Jets coach searching for answers and fans chanting for Tim Tebow to take over.

Report: Tim Tebow to Jaguars Trade Rumors Have 'No Truth'

Tim Tebow may have only played a little more than 10 percent of the Jets offensive snaps this year, but he's still a hot commodity in the rumor mill. Reports of a Tebow trade to his hometown of Jacksonville, Fla. sprouted up over night, as the Jets and Jaguars were rumored to be in discussions. Now, that speculation is being shot down. There is no truth...

Everybody Knows: New York Jets & Dallas Cowboys All Bark No Bite

I’d rather listen to the New York Jets talk than watch them play football. At least their press conferences are interesting. I fear that the Jets idea of offensive rhythm is to curse loudly while listening to “The Super Bowl Shuffle”. Much of the focus has been on the inability of the Jet’s brain-trust to figure out how to utilize Tim Tebow. Calls for Rex Ryan to bench...

Reggie Bush gets last word after Cromartie calls him a 'punk'

Hurricane Sandy wasn't the only blast of wind swirling around in New Jersey this weekend.  While New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie was basically a lot less blustery than his teammates,  who talked trash all week leading up to the game against the Miami Dolphins, it was Cromartie who created a post-game storm by calling Reggie Bush a "punk." You think after...

Jags coach: No truth to Tebow talks

The Jacksonville Jaguars are back in the middle of Tim Tebow talks again. Though this time, they say the reports are not true. A local television station reported that the Jaguars and the New York Jets were talking about a trade involving the popular quarterback. The report by Action News in Jacksonville sounded plausible since the Jaguars tried to acquire Tebow in March. But...

Rex Ryan will continue to stick with Mark Sanchez

After a tough loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has once again made it clear that he’s sticking with Mark Sanchez as … Continue reading »
