New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan was asked at his press conference today whether he thought QB Tim Tebow could line up at running back, seeing that both RBs Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight did not practice for a second straight day, as reported by ESPN New York.

"That's a possibility," he said. "The thing about Tim, with him being a football player like we've always talked about, by playing quarterback he knows all the positions and so, can you plug him in at running back? Can you plug him in at tight end, whatever? I think the answer is yes."

Tebow lined up at RB a couple of times during their crushing defeat to the San Francisco 49ers two weeks ago, but didn't actually carry the ball. His runs this season (64 yards) have come out of the Wildcat formation.

"(Tebow is) not going to be a blazer compared to other running backs, but he's got power," Ryan said.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday, "He's a good runner, strong runner, very strong, good thrower, mobile in the pocket, smart player, can do a lot of different things; You certainly have to be aware when he's in there. In the kicking game, he's dangerous because of his versatility ... . He carries the ball quite a bit so to some degree he's a running back."

Whatever the case may be, the Patriots will prepare to stop to Tebow wherever he lines up.
