NFL Trade Rumors:
Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer believes that free agent MLB Rey Maualuga will not be back with Bengals in 2013.
Reedy admits that the team could always change their mind, but doubts that Maualuga will be back next season.
Maualuga, 25, will be an unrestricted free agent, but his four years with the team hasn’t lived up to peoples’ expectations. In fact, Pro Football Focus rated Maualuga last among qualifying inside linebackers this season and his 2011 rating wasn’t much better.
Despite having played in all regular season games this year and producing a career high 122 tackles, Maualuga experienced his share of missed tackles and struggled mightily in passing coverage. But perhaps the biggest issue for the former second round pick was the fact that he was outperformed by undrafted rookie Vontaze Burfict.
Maualuga’s young enough to find work elsewhere, but it’s hard to imagine him securing a solid contract on the open market. We have him listed as the No. 92 best available play...

The Cincinnati Bengals are one of those teams that seem to be on the cusp of greatness. Many teams have come to this point and then fell apart.Bengals fans are hoping the team stays on the course that has brought them to this precipice and pushes it over the top.We know they have a great core group of players and that youth is on their side. We know they have done a good job managing...
Andy Dalton gets a lot of credit for the Bengals’ recent success. After all, a mere 2nd round pick rookie in 2011, Dalton took over a Bengals team that was 4-12 in 2010 and took them to the playoffs in back-to-back years for the first time since 1981-1982. However, he doesn’t deserve nearly as much credit as this defense. Dalton has led this offense to 22.9 points per game in...
Wanted to toss a quick post up for those who might have missed it: Despite there being a whopping eight head coaching vacancies filled around the NFL, none of said jobs went to Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden or defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.
This is absolutely huge because while I think Marvin Lewis is an average head coach at best, this is clearly the...
The trend toward receiving tight ends not only makes game sense, it also makes business sense. TEs cost half (or less) of what WRs cost. When a team can get a guy who is a physical mismatch at half the price of play-making WR, what’s not to like about the guy?
Jermaine Gresham: signed through 2014
Gresham is a microcosm of the teams’ offense. Inconsistent. Laden with potential...
