While we await the updated status of Robert Griffin III, the elder Griffin -- RG2 -- offered some unbridled enthusiasm regarding his son's availability.

Robert Griffin II told USA Today Tuesday that RG3 is "definitely" planning to start Sunday against the Browns.

"He's doing great,'' Robert Griffin II said. "He definitely said he plans to start. I haven't seen him (the last two days). But he told me (today) everything has gone well.''

Griffin III, who suffered a mild knee sprain during Week 14's win over the Ravens, is improving day by day, increasing the likelihood that we'll see him under center.

"He's doing rehabilitation as far as the impact pain working with that,'' Griffin's dad said. "Monday he said he felt really good. Today he felt better. Every day he's getting better. Monday he had no problems and throughout the workout, he had no problems.''

If RG3 does play, however, his dad would prefer Alfred Morris to handle more of the workload.

"Hopefully, he'll let the running back do all the running,'' Griffin II said.

Griffin Sr. added that he "knew [Griffin III] was OK," which obviously is great news for the surging Redskins, who are making a legitimate playoff push.

Despite Pierre Garcon's prediction that Kirk Cousins would be thrust into action, signs point toward the contrary.
