Yes, you may want to re-read the headline. Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is teaming up with video game company Ubisoft and Mi Adidas toe help raise voting awareness. Specifically, Griffin III and Ubisoft (through its upcoming video game, Assassin's Creed III) have partnered with Mi Adidas to create a limited edition run of ACIII and Rock the Vote-inspired CC Seduction shoes that will be bundled with the digital download version of Assassin's Creed III. The entire bundle will be sold via Ubisoft's UbiShop and is available today as the "Griffin Bundle". “As the child of two American service members, I’ve always had a strong interest in our governmental system and understand the importance of bringing citizens to the polls in November,” said Griffin. “It’s a cause that is important to me, and the partnership with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III gives me another opportunity to show my support and encourage people to represent their country through the voting process.” In addition to the shoes, NYC-based artist Artek will also create an art piece based on Griffin's interest in the Revolutionary War-based video game. The artwork will be auctioned off by UbiSoft, with proceeds benefiting Rock the Vote. “Robert is one of the most passionate and creative minds – both on the field and off – that we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with,” said Tony Key, senior vice president, sales and marketing at Ubisoft. “Not to mention the inspiration and energy portrayed throughout Assassin’s Creed III that really drove this project. I’m excited to see it go to a good cause.” Assassin's Creed III will be released on October 30th. As mentioned, the Griffin bundle can be (pre)-ordered now while supplies last.
