Richard Seymour is still on the free-agent market, but don’t expect him back in New England anytime soon. Seymour, who was traded to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a first-round pick in 2009, seems to have a bitter taste in his mouth from the end of his tenure with the Patriots. Now, the free-agent defensive end says he doesn’t see a way he’d ever return to the Patriots. Richard Seymour on New England: I don't think there is a situation where I end back up with the #Patriots. #SXMSports— SiriusXM NFL Radio (@SiriusXMNFL) June 25, 2013 The Patriots traded Seymour on Sept. 6, 2009, just eight days before the start of the regular season, giving him every reason to be angry with Bill Belichick and the organization. During his first season with the Raiders, Seymour admitted that he was “blindsided” by the trade and seemed bothered by the bitter ending to eight years in New England. Seymour has continually been linked to the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, which would be a good match for a veteran player trying to win one more title and a franchise that was just yards away from a Super Bowl last year.
