With Seattle's Seahawks CB Richard Sherman wrapping up his appeal for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy, all signs point to him taking the field for their important matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
Sherman spent Thursday and Friday in New York appealing his foiur-game suspension that was initally handed down on November 25th.
He's now expected to play since the ruling will most likely wait until Monday. That gives him one more chance to contribute in the event he doesn't win the appeal. His defense was that he accidentally drank Adderall from a teammates water bottle. We'd love to have been able to hear his explanation to the league's appeal board.
Teammate Brandon Browner had dropped his appeal earlier this month and is eligible to return after the final regular-season game. So we're looking at possibly one CB going away, and the other coming back for the playoffs, IF they make it there.
“Been a long day but very productive," Sherman wrote on his Twitter account Friday, adding that "The result will be announced soon enough,"
“And I will be out there with my teammates Sunday!"
