As the Browns prepare to embark their second season under Pat Shurmur there are many questions that remain. With training camp opening Sat. July 28, were going to take a position-by-position analysis of the current roster as the team heads to camp over the next few weeks. Part two is the running back and fullback positions. Candidates: RB --Trent Richardson, Montario Hardesty, Brandon Jackson, Chris Ogbonnaya and Adonis Thomas FB -- Eddie Williams, Owen Marecic and Brad Smelley. • Think it winds up being Richardson, Hardesty, Jackson and Ogbonnaya as the TB's. Ogbonnaya showed enough and is cheap enough to keep in case of injury. Adonis Thomas was inyriguing enough to give up on Armond Smith. Think he may have a future at wideout, also. But, as of now, we're actually too crowded and he goes to PS.
For the FB position, I can actually see them keeping both Marecic and Smelley. Smelley's OTA's were impressive. This would also allow us to relieve some roster space by letting Alex Smith walk...or can we grab a 7th rounder for him? Most likely scenario, though, would be to put Smelley on the PS and let Marecic fail if he's going to.
