While recent comments by Panthers quarterback Cam Newton may have caused a stir among some, what Newton said didn't bother head coach Ron Rivera. "To me, the thing I like about it more than anything is it's important, it really is," Rivera said. "It's the old saying that if you didn't put your heart into it, it wouldn't hurt. He does. He puts everything into it. "To me, there is no issue. I still struggle when I hear people talking about the stuff with that and the towel and that stuff, it doesn't make sense to me." Rivera said he didn't hear Newton say some players were more willing to accept losing than the rookie from Auburn. "I didn't hear any of that," Rivera said. "Cam's approach to everything is 100 percent. You have to understand who he is. He is a young man that just doesn't like to lose."
