So much for Ben Roethlisberger's triumphant return. Ditto the notion the Pittsburgh Steelers had finally turned the corner. Rhythm disrupted by a relentless San Diego pass rush, Roethlisberger struggled early and the Steelers never recovered in a listless -- not to mention perplexing -- 34-24 loss on Sunday.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger returned to the lineup Sunday against the Chargers and threw for 285 yards and three scores with two turnovers.Fantasy Spin:Roethlisberger was on the sidelines for about a month while recovering from rib and shoulder injuries suffered during a Week 9 win over Kansas City. His presence immediately gives Pittsburgh's receivers fantasy value again.
For most fantasy leagues Week 14 either means it’s playoff time or it’s the last week of the regular reason. Regardless, it’s extremely important...
Pittsburgh wide receiver Mike Wallace enjoyed having Ben Roethlisberger back under center Sunday against San Diego. Wallace caught seven passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.Fantasy Spin:Wallace saw 11 targets, his most since Week 7, and had 100 yards receiving for the first time since Week 3. He's a must-start as long as Big Ben is calling the shots.
Even with Ben Roethlisberger back from injury, the Pittsburgh Steelers were no match for the San Diego Chargers yesterday, what with their “Holy crap, we should play better so we aren’t all fired or traded” realization and effort. The Chargers defeated the Steelers 34-24 in a game that was much worse than the score indicates, with Philip Rivers tossing three touchdowns and...
At least Ben Roethlisberger is back and producing for a team that's very much alive for a playoff berth in the AFC after yet another loss.
Entering Week 14 of the 2012 NFL season, many fantasy football owners are beginning their playoff week. Whether you start this week or the next, or simply go all 17 weeks with no playoffs and crown the overall champion in the end, it is time to pay attention to each and every injury. That is certainly true today, as we have found out that Stevie Johnson, Michael Turner and Ben Roethlisberger...
The Steelers continue to receive gift after gift from the rest of the NFL. Even the loss today at Heinz Field, 34-24 to the lowly Chargers still leaves them in control of the 6th seed in the playoffs by virtue of the Ravens and Bengals both losing. I’ve said it many times this year, if the Steelers have 9 lives they are burning through at a rapid pace. As Mike Tomlin said in his...

The Chargers and Steelers collide in Pittsburgh in a match-up of two teams heading in different directions. It also marks the third career meeting between Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger since they were drafted seven picks apart in the 2004 draft. The Pittsburgh Steelers now have quarterback Ben Roethlisberger back somewhat healthy and with cornerback Ike Taylor now sidelined indefinitely with an ankle injury, the team decided to waive quarterback Brian Hoyer on Saturday and promote cornerback Josh Victorian from the practice squad to take his spot on the 53 man roster.
Hoyer served as the backup quarterback for the last...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten pretty good at beating the NFL's best.
They've nearly perfected losing to the worst.
And while San Diego is more underachieving than utterly horrific, the Chargers' 34-24 win over the Steelers on Sunday continued a perplexing trend for a team that considers itself among the elite.
Pittsburgh (7-6) has won on the road at Baltimore...
PITTSBURGH -- Desperately in need of a win over the San Diego Chargers to improve their playoff chances, the Pittsburgh Steelers hoped Ben Roethlisberger's return would be the perfect spark. Instead, the absence of cornerback Ike Taylor and linebacker LaMarr Woodley proved to be too much to overcome. Roethlisberger and the Steelers' offense struggled while Philip Rivers...
