After a raucous summer full of non-football related activity, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski showed up to training camp as a model Bill Belichick player.

"You can ask the coaches that. It is football time now," Gronkowski told the media today. "That’s all I’m worried about is football, football, football and getting better on the field every day. All I focus on is football. I love the game – that’s my number one passion."

Gronk, who underwent ankle surgery after the Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants, starred in a new Fox reality television show, won a minor league celebrity home run derby and donned his birthday suit in ESPN The Magazine's body issue.

According to the record-setting tight end, his ankle is anything but a

"I’m out there every day," Gronkowski said. "What does it look like? I’m going pretty hard. I’m going hard. … Mentally I’m out there. What I’m mentally preparing is my plays every single day, getting out there, trying to get better. Getting out there, making sure I do the right things. I’m not trying to think of anything else besides getting right, getting my play down, getting my route down, getting my blocking assignment down and just getting better."

The 23-year-old tight end, who recorded 17 touchdowns in 2011, will look to build on his break-out sophomore year in 2012.
