The Awesome Boston:
Boston Herald: Gronk Nation is throwing a penalty flag against a popular Peabody T-shirt maker. The Florida company formed by New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and his fellow NFL-playing brothers Dan and Chris has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Sully’s Tees for allegedly selling unauthorized “Gronk” T-shirts. Gronk Nation received federal trademark designations in December for “Gronk Nation,” “Gronk” and “Get Gronk’d” for endorsement purposes. While an application to trademark “Gronk” for hats, shirts and wristbands is pending, the Gronkowskis still have protection under Massachusetts law, according to their Boston attorney. A.B. Looks like Sully’s is about to get Gronk’d by Gronk. Which begs the question… why Sully’s? Plenty of other t-shirts companies sell Gronk themed apparel. A quick Google search reveals different variations of the word Gronk appearing on t shirts by at least 6 different sites. So, what’s next, trademarking “Yo Soy Fiest

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports believes that free agent defensive end John Abraham would be a good fit for the New England Patriots.
He made his tour of visits, and he’s been pretty firm with his asking price, but this still leaps out as a Bill Belichick move to me. He is always collecting veteran edge players who can add situational help, and the Pats are always in the hunt....
According to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston, the New England Patriots have cut wide receiver Jeremy Ebert.
Ebert could be mistaken for Wes Welker on the field; his size and frame have a similar look.
Maybe off it also, as he’s heading out of town to make room for receivers Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce. Reiss writes:
‘Ebert didn’t make the Patriots out of training camp last season...
New England Patriots 2013 pump up (by Jonah Nielsen)
When the Patriots drafted Southern Miss linebacker Jamie Collins, a quick Google search would reveal he’s a tremendous athlete. At nearly 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, Collins ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash, jumped 41 1/2 inches in the vertical leap and set an NFL combine record with his 11-foot-7 broad jump.
But further Googling and Youtubing showed that Collins isn’t just a demon...
The Patriots were successful in their attempt to move running back/return man Jeff Demps after the Olympic Sprinter announced that his devotion to Track & Field would limit his time on the gridiron. In addition to Demps' open devotion to track, the Pats signed Pro Bowl return specialist Leon Washington this offseason as well.
So the need to keep Demps quickly spiraled...

Getting drafted in the seventh round isn't exactly the greatest thing for players. Sure, it's great to say that you were drafted, but it's very rare that seventh rounders stick around. At least as an undrafted free agent you can chose a team where you might have a chance to compete.
Just look at one of the Patriots seventh round picks last year, Jeremy Ebert, he'...
New England Patriots second-round pick Jamie Collins is 6-foot-3 and has a 67-inch wingspan, perfect for bullying lineman on the pass rush and knocking down passes in coverage. The team's newest addition to the linebacking corps also has another use for his long arms and stature: posterizing defenders on the basketball court. This YouTube video, thanks to the point-out by Christopher...
The NFL is a league based on patterns and trends. Coaches, players and front-office personnel are constantly studying the successes of certain teams to try and create their own blueprint.
The Patriots always seem to be one of those test cases. First, it was the aggressive press coverage of their cornerbacks, which forced the league to more strictly enforce the five-yard illegal contact...
With Brandon Lloyd and Wes Welker gone, Tom Brady needs someone to throw to, right?
The Welker role was famously filled by free agent Danny Amendola, who is expected to play Z receiver in two-wide sets and slot receiver in three-wide sets. But Lloyd’s role in the offense will be the best competition to watch as rookie mini-camp, OTAs and training camp draw near.
There are four...
On Monday the Jets cut ties with embattled quarterback Tim Tebow after only one season. No one picked him up on Waivers Tuesday, and now he’s officially a free agent. The Jets made a big mistake by picking him up because they had no idea how to use him, and now they are still paying [...]The post Why Tim Tebow fits perfectly with the New England Patriots appeared first on Punch Drunk Wonderland.
