The Football Fan Spot:
Rob Ninkovich has played primarily at outside linebacker in his career, but the 6-2 255 pounder has been seeing some snaps at defensive end for the Patriots in OTAs. Ninkovich is yet another diamond in the rough that the Patriots have unearthed, ranking 10th among all 4-3 outside linebackers last year and totaling 6 sacks, 5 hits, and 28 quarterback pressures as a situational pass rusher.
With Dont’a Hightower coming in, it was unclear where Ninkovich would play in base 4-3 packages as Jerod Mayo, Brandon Spikes, and Hightower figure to start at the 3 linebacker spots. It’s possible that end might be his spot in their base package. At defensive end, the Patriots have 2 rookies, Chandler Jones and Jake Bequette, as well as veteran Trevor Scott, a career situational player that some feel could have a breakout year this year. Brandon Deaderick, who was played a situational role for the Patriots over the past few years, can also play there in addition to defensive tackle.

Now this is how you get through a Monday.
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski underwent ankle surgery almost four months ago and so far all indications are that his recovery is “going well.”

“Just taking it day by day,” said Gronkowski. “Everything...
Back in february, the Patriots Super Bowl chances hinged squarely on the right ankle of tight end Rob Gronkowski. Unfortunately for the Patriots, that ankle didn't hold up quite as well as they had hoped in the 19-15 loss to the New York Giants. But as New England gears up for a new season and another shot at claiming the franchise's fourth Super Bowl title, Gronkowski'...

The event raised over $500,000 to fund cancer research and help families of those diagnosed.
Good to see Gronk doing some good.
The fans have spoken and former New England receiver Troy Brown will be the 2012 inductee into the Patriots Hall of Fame. He will be the 18th player and 19th total member of the Hall of Fame.
Brown was one of three finalists nominated by a 17-person committee in April, the other two were former free safety Fred Marion and former head coach Bill Parcells. Fans then had five weeks...
Misunderstanding of the Maya calendar has some believing the world will end in 2012. Those better-versed in their understanding of ancient civilizations believe that 2012 represents a reset of the clock and an ushering in of a new era on this world.
This may be true for the New England Patriots, as contract negotiations for a long-term deal with wide receiver Wes Welker show no...
Off the field, the New England Patriots are known for their community involvement – players and management alike. Friday was a perfect example of that as both Tom Brady and Zoltan Mesko hosted events.
“It’s really stressed by our ownership, and I think the players really enjoy it, to take part in special nights like this,” Brady told reporters. “Zoltan’s have ‘ZoliOke’...
