Found May 29, 2012 on Sports-Glory:
Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow may be No.1 and No. 2 in overall jersey sales from April 1 to May 28, but Robert Griffin III had the top-selling jersey in the month of May, according to the NFL.   Rookie jerseys didnt go on sale until April 26. Andrew Luck was ranked fourth from April 1-May 28 and fourth in the month of May. The Washington Redskins may not know how RG3 will play on the field, but they do know he will be great from a marketing side. Sales to RG3 jersey could be high because fans want to have the first ever NFL, MLB, NBA or NHL jersey to have "RNOB" or "roman numeral on back".  Most likely its because Washington is ready to invest in a very promising young quarterback and forget about the last ones.  The Redskins fans haven't seen a successful franchise quarterback in decades. Washington now hopes their investment in RG3 will pay off on the field.

Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III said that he’s becoming more comfortable with the Washington Redskins offense as time goes on. What’s really encouraging is that Griffin is developing some good chemistry with his new teammates and is building a strong relationship with head coach Mike Shanahan. “I definitely see a tremendous improvement, just with the team chemistry,...

Dan Snyder’s Old Yearbook Photo Is Unfortunate

I missed this when the Washington Post published it last year, so thankfully Burgundy Blog dug up Dan Snyder’s old yearbook photo: WaPo’s caption on the photo reads: “A young Snyder appears in a school yearbook. He was an unremarkable student with little interest in school, a notably limited attention span and few close friends.” What’s left unsaid is that those “few...

Past NFL Greats: Edward Bennett Williams

Edward Bennett Williams is really not a name that would ring a bell for most fans of the National Football League. Alot of people who were around in the 1950′s remember Williams as one of the United States’ most revered defense attorneys and was noted for defending high profile cases involving people such as Jimmy

Redskins sign rookie QB Cousins

The Redskins signed fourth-round pick Kirk Cousins, the 102nd overall selection in the 2012 draft. Cousins, the all-time wins leader at Michigan State, impressed the Redskins at the Senior Bowl, when coaches Mike and Kyle Shanahan were opposing Cousins' North team. When Cousins was on the board in the fourth round -- many teams graded him as a second-round pick -- Mike Shanahan...

Notebook: McIntosh’s value has dropped

The Vikings brought in linebacker Rocky McIntosh for a visit earlier this offseason, but his value around the league has dropped. Just five years ago, he was being considered in a trade for a multiple Pro Bowler that could have changed the dynamic in the NFC North. Plus, changes in roster rules aren’t done yet, Jake Long could be heading into extension talks, and much more insight...

Rams could be interested in Albert Haynesworth

There was a time when Albert Haynesworth was one of the best defensive linemen in the league and the most valuable free agent of the 2009 free agent class. He landed a 100 million dollar deal with the Washington Redskins and spent 2 mediocre and controversy filled years there before being shipped to the Patriots for next to nothing. He was then cut midseason by the Patriots and scooped...

Maryland license plate insults the Cowboys

Photo from the Washington Post According to the Washington Post, there was a write-up in the Baltimore Sun about what is allowed to be printed on a custom license plate in the state of Maryland. Below is a small excerpt from the article in the Sun. State law allows the MVA to deny tags that have a scatological or sexual meaning; use curse words, epithets or obscenities; carry...
