There was a lot of finger-pointing 2 months ago when Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III suffered a partially torn ACL and LCL in the team’s NFC Wild Card loss to the Seahawks, which required surgery along with an extensive recovery time, putting the 2013 season opener in doubt. Fans and analysts tried criticized Mike Shanahan for allowing Griffin to play on a knee that was already injured, while Shanahan attempted to shed some of the guilt and pass it off to Dr James Andrews. There were some that even blamed Griffin for playing while knowing he wasn’t completely healthy. Griffin attempted to clear the air with Trey Wingo in an extensive text that was posted via Twitter on Wednesday: “My knee is getting better every day. The doctors say I’m ahead of schedule.
