Tom Brady’s new contract extension has been debated ad nauseum. You already know how we feel about it, so there’s no reason to get into that again.
But now that the world has realized that Brady didn’t really take less money, instead he got a raise, Peter King got Patriots owner Robert Kraft on the horn so he could defend the contract.
In a hollow attempt to show everyone that he’s getting to the bottom of the contract, King basically gives Kraft the platform to attempt to convince everyone that Brady’s contract should indeed be praised. And most importantly, it isn’t a fake deal.
“No, no, no,” Patriots owner Robert Kraft told me. “This is a real deal. Look at our track record. We don’t do fake deals. The contract we have with Tom Brady is a real contract we will both live by.”
