Fantasy Football Champs:
The San Diego Chargers and Wide Receiver Robert Meachem agreed on a four-year, $25.9 million contract. The deal includes $14 million in guarantees. The move by San Diego came just hours after Vincent Jackson signed a five-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Antonio Gates remains Quarterback Philip Rivers' top target, the team needed to fill the void left by Jackson.
Though the Saints have a high-octane Offense, Meachem could never be relied on as a consistent Fantasy option, that should change now that hes playing for the Chargers. With Vincent Jackson gone, Meachem should start from Day 1 and we all know Philip Rivers has one of the biggest arms in the NFL.
As for the Saints, Devery Henderson and Lance Moores value should get a boost now that there is one less mouth for Drew Brees to feed.

SAN DIEGO, March 14- The Buffalo Bills were supposedly a shoe-in to land WR Robert Meachem and that did not happen as he will play with a lightning bolt shooting across his helmet for the next four years.
The Chargers website has confirmed that Meachem has a four-year deal with the Chargers. The team would not get into the financial specifics.
But here is the deal, Charger fans...
It’s funny how fast things change during the first few days of the free agency signing period, and this year’s installment has been no exception to that. A great example came late last night, as it was widely expected that the Bills would do almost anything possible to get a deal done with wide receiver Robert Meachem (Saints) and defensive end Mario Williams (Texans) to avoid...
Saints' former first round pick Robert Meachem has agreed to a 4 year deal with the San Diego Chargers that will see him leave New Orleans. The Chargers lost their star receiver Vincent Jackson to the Tampa Bay Bucs earlier in the day and quickly moved to replace him. Several teams showed interest in Meachem, most notably the Buffalo Bills who made a strong play to land him early...
WGR 550's Sal Capaccio reported that the team is interested in New Orleans Saints receiver Robert Meachem, and Manish Mehta followed that up by reporting that Meachem will be at One Bills Drive on Tuesday night. Meachem, who will turn 28 in September, was a first-round draft pick of the Saints in 2007, and has spent most of his career as a fourth (sometimes third) receiver with...

Former San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson bolted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday evening, signing a five-year deal worth $55,555,555 (say that five times fast), but general manager A.J. Smith and the team found a replacement early Wednesday morning.
OK, maybe not a replacement, per say. But a consistent deep threat and a reliable receiver, nonetheless. San...
The Chargers lost Vincent Jackson in free agency Tuesday but tried to make up for it by signing Robert Meachem. San Diego is paying Meachem $14 million guaranteed on a four-year $25.9 million deal. Vincent Jackson signed a five-year $55 million deal with the Buccaneers and $26 million is guaranteed. I have to say, I don’t like either deal very much.
Both players’ stats were...

Robert Meachem, a wide receiver previously with the New Orleans Saints, has agreed to a four-year, $25.9 million deal with the San Diego Chargers, per ESPN's Bill Williamson. (Buffalo Rumblings)

While not a lot of information is available at this time, it is being reported by various news outlets that free agent DE Mario Williams will visit with the Buffalo Bills tonight. The Bills are also scheduled to meet with free agent WR Robert Meachem.
Could this be the face of Buffalo's defensive line?
Williams, a former #1 overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft, is one of the most...
The Buffalo Bills are making fast moves to land targets that they have identified as prime suspects.
The bell of this year’s ball Mario Williams will visit with the Bills tonight according to AdamSchefter.
The Bills are also said to have former Saints deep threat Robert Meachem coming in as well.
According to the team, Bills general manager Buddy Nix would like to have any and...
The St. Louis Rams began free agency by instantly casting out multiple lines, but they failed to hook anything in the early hours.
The initial rumors focused on wide receiver options, such as Pierre Garcon (Indianapolis Colts) and Robert Meachem (New Orleans Saints), as well as Atlanta's Harry Douglas.
While most of the rumors involved receivers, there was also talk...

Yesterday, we relayed a story to you that the Chicago Bears were almost certain that they were the favorites to land free agent defensive end Mario Williams. But the former Texan is in Buffalo as we bring a report to you from WGR 550 that says that the Bills “fully expect” to sign the #1 overall draft pick in 2006.
Williams is on his recruiting pitch with the Bills staff, along...
Fresh off the loss of Vincent Jackson to the Buccaneers, the Chargers have come to terms with Saints’ free agent wide receiver Robert Meachem.
The deal is reportedly worth $25.9 million over four years, with $14 million of that guaranteed.
The Chargers have a nice young nucleus of receivers now in Meachem, Malcom Floyd, and Vincent Brown. Antonio Gates’ presence never hurts much either.
