All Sports Everything:
Atlanta Falcons Roddy White didn’t have his best game against the New Orleans Saints during yesterday’s season opener. A bothersome ankle sprain limited White to two catches and 19 yards, which equates to just one measly fantasy point in most leagues. When a player like White usually averages double digit fantasy numbers, such a drop in productivity is hard for most owners to accept, especially during Week 1 when they’re trying to get off to a good start. Fantasy owners had lots to say, and weren’t shy about hitting White up on twitter to let him know how they felt about yesterday’s game. However, in true White fashion, he didn’t back down from the backlash. He barked back at fantasy owners with a message of his own:
No I can’t give out an injury report before the game. I play real football and it would be stupid to tip the other team off and say I’m hurt
— Roddy White (@roddywhiteTV) September 9, 2013
As far as fantasy if I don’t participate in practice than don’t start me it’s a red flag
— Roddy White (@roddywhiteTV) September 9, 2013
Hold up. Am I the only who sees the irony in White sharing that little tid bit with fantasy owners despite him not wanting to tip off opponents? Does he think his opponents will turn a blind eye to his very public tweets? His useful advice for fantasy owners wasn’t necessarily the wisest move if his lack of transparency was intended to keep his game day status a mystery.
But, anyway folks, there you have it. If the injury report shows he’s been limited in practice, then it’s a safe bet that he’s not at full strength and you may see less of him during the game. Boom.
