White is correct, in the fact that Matt Ryan has a better resume than Russell Wilson. You have to be careful crowning any quarterback the best after the one year.
With that being said Wilson doesn’t have to be better than Matt Ryan overall, just today.
Here is what White had to say when asked about people who are saying Russell Wilson is better than Matt Ryan.
“If Russell Wilson is a better quarterback than Matt Ryan, then I don’t know nothing about football. I’m going to quit. I’m going to retire before this game starts,” White said. “Matt is ready to go. We’re ready to go. We want to go out there and show everybody that we can win a playoff game.”
Matt Ryan has a lot to prove and it starts today.

Here are some Falcons-centric grades from the club's thrilling 30-28 win over the Seahawks in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff:
Seahawks QB Russell Wilson may have set a single-game franchise playoff record for passing yards (385) -- while running for 60 yards and score -- but history will fondly remember Matt Ryan (250 yards passing, three TDs) for...
ATLANTA -- Matt Bryant kicked a 49-yard field goal with 8 seconds left and the Atlanta Falcons bounced back after blowing a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter, defeating Russell Wilson and the gutty Seattle Seahawks 30-28 in an NFC divisional playoff game Sunday.
The Falcons (14-3) appeared ready to allow the biggest fourth-quarter comeback in NFL playoff history when Marshawn...
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan’s first playoff victory was apparently enough to earn him a new nickname from his loquacious teammate Asante Samuel, AKA “Swag 100″. Per the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Samuel has dubbed Matt Ryan “Matty Black Ice” because Samuel says that black ice is the “slick stuff you can’t see coming.” The Seahawks can certainly attest...
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Even though none of the Atlanta Falcons would publicly acknowledge the heightened pressure to win leading up to Sunday's playoff clash with the Seahawks, make no mistake, the anxiety was real.
Alas, having finally earned that first playoff triumph of the Mike Smith era -- a miraculous 30-28 victory over the Seahawks -- the Falcons seemingly could breathe...
My stomach hurts. I’m sure Matt Ryan’s does too, after finally receiving a taste of his first playoff win since the Falcons drafted him in 2008.
Regardless of the solid 20-0 Atlanta lead at the end of the first half, the game was not decided until Seattle rookie quarterback Russell Wilson’s final heave to the end-zone was intercepted by WR Julio Jones with 0 seconds left on...
After blowing a twenty-point lead with less than thirty seconds remaining, the Atlanta Falcons trailed by one point against the Seattle Seahawks.
The game looked to be over until quarterback Matt Ryan got the Falcons in field goal range to win the game with less than ten seconds to play.
Check out kicker Matt Bryant who drained the 49-yard game winner to advance to the NFC...
The Atlanta Falcons have done something they haven’t
done since the 2004 season, win a playoff game. The Falcons, led by quarterback
Matt Ryan and kicker Matt Bryant, clung on to the slipping grasp of victory to
get the win over the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC divisional round of playoffs.
Matt Ryan threw for 250 yards, completed 24 of 35

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM DAHLBERG AP Sports Columnist The old pro was on the sideline, resigned to the fact that this would turn out like so many games of the past. In the 16 years Tony Gonzalez has played tight end in the NFL, so many seasons ended early that he couldn't expect this one to be any different.
If football is a cruel game, it had been even crueler to Gonzalez...
Matt Ryan threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Tony Gonzalez as the Falcons took advantage of a fumble by Seattle's Marshawn Lynch to lead the Seahawks 10-0 after the first quarter of Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game.
The Falcons overcame an interception by Ryan to stretch their lead. Ryan's pass for Gonzalez was intercepted by Seahawks middle linebacker Bobby Wagner...
After a predictably slow start to the game, Seattle came within seconds of upsetting the Falcons at home. Trailing by 20 points going into the final quarter, Russell Wilson led the Seahawks to an amazing comeback, taking the lead with only 31 seconds remaining to silence a rowdy Atlanta crowd at the Georgia Dome.As most Atlanta fans know though, you should never count Matty Ice out...
