It seems every season the Falcons are looked at as legitimate Super Bowl contenders, but always come up short of the big game.
Roddy White says no more.
During an appearance on ESPN's "First Take" Wednesday, the outspoken receiver stated that 2013 will be regarded as "Super Bowl or bust" for the team.
"We're ready to take that next step," White said. "We know how good our football team is and the players we got, so it's either Super Bowl or nothing for us right now. Nothing else. Anything short of that is not a good season for us right now."
White, who's spent nine seasons in Atlanta, admitted that the club was always just "satisfied" with reaching the postseason, and nothing more.
"I think that the first three [playoff appearances under coach Mike Smith] we were getting there and were just having fun being there. And then we turned a curb, and we said we have to stop just getting there and we have ...
BEST OF MAXIM
When Falcons head coach Mike Smith is delivering his most boilerplate coachspeak, he likes to say the team keeps its goals internally.
If thats the case this offseason, then his players are not doing a very good job of keeping that information confidential.
In truth, after the Falcons advanced to the NFC championship last January, losing on a fourth-down play in the final minute...

The Atlanta Falcons know that the only way they can make believers out of fans is to make noise in the playoffs. A team that traditionally always does well in the regular season, hasn’t always translated to success in the playoff games. While they somewhat broke the mode last season by making a NFC Championship [...]

As the draft gets closer we will be going position by position and looking at some potential targets that the Falcons might be looking at in the draft. We will start with the QBs and that probably has you scratching your head. Matt Ryan has been very durable during his NFL career as he's only missed two games. But as it sits right now, the Falcons only have one other quarterback...
The Falcons are bringing back the same backfield they had last season with the exception of trading up by replacing Michael Turner with Steven Jackson. Behind Jackson we have Jacquizz Rodgers, Jason Snelling and Antone Smith. At fullback we have Bradie Ewing and I just don't see us carrying more than one FB on the roster.
There are so many needs on defense and now...
