Fox Sports Wisconsin:
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Any inquiries about Aaron Rodgers' personal life are consistently met with an immediate dismissal by the Packers' MVP quarterback. As reports surfaced this week that Rodgers is now engaged to his girlfriend, the fiercely private 28-year-old refused to discuss it during his Wednesday interview with local media.
"My personal life is my personal life," Rodgers said. "It's always going to stay that way, and I will not comment on it."
Rodgers, who fielded 10 questions before being asked about his potential engagement to his girlfriend, then added, "But you won the bet," to the television reporter who wanted the inside scoop on a story posted by BustedCoverage.com on Tuesday.
This is routine behavior for Rodgers, who the website noted was with his girlfriend at a Vanderbilt football game over the weekend while she was sporting a ring on her left hand. Rodgers is very open and honest when it comes to discussing football-related topics, but off-the-field matters are mostly off-limits.
There was another instance of this 10 days ago following Green Bay's win over the Arizona Cardinals. With the Packers about to begin their bye week, a reporter wanted to know where Rodgers was going to spend his time away, while also getting his thoughts on the upcoming presidential election.
"I'm going to say that I'm not going to talk about where I'm going, personal choice, and the same thing for politics," Rodgers said.
However, Rodgers does not shy away from being critical when he believes it's justified. He recently showed his frustration with the way CBS news magazine "60 Minutes" chose to edit its story on him. Instead of mentioning the MACC Fund, a childhood cancer research organization Rodgers gives plenty of his time to, "60 Minutes" focused much of its attention on his sensitivity about his height and other issues.
As he met with the local media Wednesday, Rodgers was sporting a full mustache in support of Movember -- an annual November event intended to raise awareness for early detection of cancer and to help battle the disease.
When asked about his new facial hair growth, the quarterback used the opportunity to take another shot at "60 Minutes."
"I just like this look, I do," Rodgers said. "Unlike some TV programs, any chance I can get to raise awareness about cancer, I'm going to do. That's why I'm choosing to wear this for now."

BEST OF MAXIM
Apparently "60 Minutes" isn't going to sit back and let Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers take shots at it without a response. After Rodgers told the Detroit media in a conference call on Wednesday that his feature story on "60 Minutes" was "cut for their purposes, their agenda," the CBS news magazine fired back at the NFL's Most Valuable...
Blame BustedCoverage for starting some rumors that Aaron Rodgers and his babe are engaged. They’ve got the pictures and video proof that Destiny Newton was wearing a ring while sitting next to her boyfriend Discount Double Check at the Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss Game.
I wouldn’t blame Rodgers.. chick is a smoke.
Aaron Rodgers has somehow been able to craft himself some new critics, and it’s a bit surprising where his latest bit of critique comes from.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback was recently outspoken about a feature devoted to him on CBS’ 60 Minutes. Rodgers’ life on and off the field was documented recently on the news magazine program, and the reigning MVP felt a little jilted...
What did we learn on Day 2 of the “Is Aaron Rodgers engaged,” saga? That Aaron Rodgers, on his ESPN Wisconsin radio show, wouldn’t confirm or deny that the giant rock on his girlfriend’s finger is an engagement ring.
Host Jason Wilde, who said on Monday he wouldn’t ask Rodgers such intrusive questions, sorta changed his tune today, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel...
In a move that I'm sure shocked his male roommate, it appears Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has recently been engaged to random blonde "woman," Destiny Newton. Speculation on this topic has run rampant after Rodgers and Newton were seen watching Aaron's younger brother, Jordan Rodgers, help Vanderbilt pull out a win against Kentucky this last weekend...
We tried to warn Wisconsin media types last week that BC was about to dominate their asses on salacious sports/entertainment news. Then we broke the news that Ryan Braun was engaged to Larisa Fraser. A few outlets blew us off as just being some annoying, disgraceful blog that investigates stupid athlete relationship stories for pageviews.
Then, on Monday, we took two screencaps...
You can put the gay rumors to rest. Well maybe you can (remember Rock Hudson). Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is supposedly engaged to a self-described hard-drinkin’, Jack Daniels and fly-fishin’ lovin’ girl named Destiny Newton. The proof? The ring she was flashing on her engagement ring hand/finger on television Saturday night.
If you look at the screen grabs...
Hot News for QB Aaron Rodgers
First, he sighed.
Detroit Lions middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch then replied not with a name but a jersey number - "12" - when asked what had stood out about Green Bay's offense during his pregame video study.
That's the kind of dehumanizing effect Aaron Rodgers can have on opposing defenses.
No NFL quarterback is hotter entering the FOX America's Game...
DOESN'T PACK IT IN
Aaron Rodgers isn't a fan of how 60 Minutes portrayed him in a profile piece last week, but a producer says that shows how the Packers QB "tends to be overly sensitive."
Evan Dietrich-Smith hears all the nice things Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy are saying about him and does what he always does.
He gets back to work.
Two years after he was cut by the Packers at the end of training camp and spent most of the season looking for work, Dietrich-Smith has become indispensable in Green Bay. Versatile enough to play any spot...
