During a conference call with reported on Thursday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell made sure he apologized to all the NFL fans that have been forced to deal with while watching their teams suffer with replacement officials.
“Sorry to have to put our fans through that,” Goodell said, per NFL.com.
“You always have costs for the short term, but you sometimes have to experience that to get to the right place in the long term,” Goodell said. “And that’s sometimes a painful thing.”
Goodell is right, the replacement officials made watching an NFL game very painful and they couldn’t have agreed to a new deal with the regular referees any sooner.
