One thing about New Orleans they are very passionate about their Saints, but they aren’t the stabbing type of passionate fans.
I doubt they would have done anything to Roger Goodell if he decided to take a midnight stroll down Bourbon Street. If anything they are the type of fans who would have asked him questions about why he handle the Bounty Scandal like he did.
Goodell though was taking no chances. Sportress of Blogitude breaks down how Goodell had Top Flight Security of the WORLD following him around the Bayou.
According to reports, Goodell was surrounded by a so-called “Iron Fence” of security while attending the Super Bowls, as were his many distinguished guests who shared the Commissioner’s suite inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Given the high profile nature of Goodell’s guests, fleets of security, both Secret Service and NFL, were on guard to protect the box. A source reports that when the lights went out during the power outage, “Everyone remained calm, but a discussion started about the possible cause. [Outgoing head of the Pentagon] Panetta mused about a cyber attack, but quickly ruled it out. Meanwhile, Gov. Christie said, ‘I hope this doesn’t happen in New Jersey.’”
Honestly, when the lights went out in the Dome, I thought momentarily something suspect was going on. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in Goodell’s box so if something happened I was stuck.
Luckily no harm, no foul.

For at least the majority of the second half of the season I don't think I heard the Bounty-Gate scandal mentioned too often. Of course during the playoffs it wasn't since the Saints didn't even make the playoffs.
Now it did creep back into the spotlight in the week prior to the Super Bowl that saw Roger Goodell come to a city--New Orleans-- that had every reason to...
