Last season was a season of trials and tribulations for Antonio Ramiro Romo. Ultimately, in many fans eyes, it was another failed season from Romo and the Cowboys. But Cowboys great Roger Staubach believes that the criticism isn’t fair.
“It’s really a mystery to me why people don’t understand how really good (Romo) is,” Staubach told the Dallas Morning News. “The things he can do and the plays he can make, I’m sure Troy (Aikman) would say the same. I think this team is building to support a great quarterback like Romo. If your defense is doing a great job, you can do a lot of things on offense.”
Staubach is absolutely correct. When you watch games from last season the defense falters put a lot of pressure on Romo to keep scoring which ultimately resulted in him making costly mistakes in the waning minutes of the game. A more improved defense this season should take pressure of Romo. But another season without making the postseason(and if you ask some, a playoff run) could mean a possible change under center for America’s Team.
