Ever since Terrell Thomas went down, speculation has been rampant about whether former corner, and current safety, Antrel Rolle would be tried at his old position. Well, we have an answer. According to Rolle, the current plan is to make him the nickel corner back.

“I don’t know what to expect for the rest of the season, but as for right now that’s the plan, to have me line up at the nickel position,” he said. “I have no problem doing that. It’s something I’ve been doing pretty much my entire career. It’s just a matter of being on the same page at the same time with my teammates.”

“I plan on maybe moving down from 206 to 200 pounds,” Rolle said. “I feel like I play a lot quicker, matching up with the faster, quicker receivers and I feel like it’ll give me a better matchup at that point. It’s all a process. I haven ‘t thought once about not playing a position. Like I tell my coaches all the time, whatever it takes for us to win, that’s what I’m all about.”

This makes complete sense. Try him out Monday night, see what happens. He obviously has experience at corner and enough talent to play there occasionally. With enough depth at safety, it’s a no brainer.
