After the first day of the Draft, there was much speculation that the St. Louis Rams would take a wide receiver with the first pick of the second round.

However, Brian Quick was not on the list of desirable wide receiver candidates. Quick was projected to go late in the second round or early in the third.

It was a shock when he was selected as the 33rd pick of the Draft, and there were higher ranked receivers that weren't picked yet.

Quick is 6'3 and 220 pounds. He's a danger in the red zone which is why the Rams - who were low scoring during the 2011 season - took him. He uses his size and speed to make deep plays, and has excellent body control. Film producer Greg Cosell commented that Quick is more athletic than Justin Blackmon and better at football than Albert Pojols.

If he can stay healthy Quick will be a great asset to Sam Bradford. According to GM Les Snead's feelings about the wide receivers, Quick was “as good, or better, than all of them.” How will he do during the 2012 season? This rookie mini-camp video provides great insight:

Quick can catch the ball, which is something Bradford greatly needs in his wide receivers. He is focused on wanting to get better and even calls the Rams his new family.  His main weaknesses are his route running, speed, and breakage. As the video clip proves, he's already improving. He's very eager to learn and keep getting better.

Fantasy reports call him a great sleeper candidate and worth looking at in later rounds of drafts. There is no doubt he'll be a great fantasy wide receiver.

He'll be an interesting player to watch, and will make his presence known early on. As an avid fantasy player, I hope that none of my opponents steal him so I can have him on my team.
