Found June 16, 2012 on Football Nation:
Ronnie Hillman had a very productive final two seasons of his college career at San Diego State, totaling 3,243 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns on the ground. leading the Denver Broncos to draft him in the third round of this past April's draft as they look to add skill position talent around newly signed quarterback Peyton Manning. Hillman does not have terrific size (5'9", 200 lbs.) and was not very productive as a pass receiver in college (33 receptions in 2010 and 2011 combined), so he will not immediately step in as an every down back at the NFL level, and the Broncos will not ask him to with Willis McGahee, Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ball also in the mix for playing time. There have been some reports the Broncos expect Hillman to become an immediate contributor as a rookie, but he reportedly was behind the other three backs in the pecking order during the team's recent minicamp. So, what can fantasy football owners expect from Hillman in 2012? How Hillman...

Broncos’ Ronnie Hillman buried on depth chart?

The Broncos used a 3rd round pick on Ronnie Hillman and while many expect him to serve as a change of pace back behind and the primary backup to Willis McGahee, the Denver Post is reporting that Hillman is currently buried in the depth chart and was the 4th running back to get reps in minicamp behind McGahee, Lance Ball, and Mario Fannin. Head Coach John Fox loves veterans, but both...

Broncos, Prater “not far apart” in negotiations

Prater, who kicked five game-winning or game-tying field goals last season, received a DUI last August and has converted only 12-of-23 field goal attempts from 40-49 yards (52.2%) while with the Broncos. Prater's agent, Frank Bauer, will point to his clients' long-distance success (75%) while negotiating a deal. We noted yesterday that disgruntled Broncos kicker Matt Prater...

Broncos’ Mays: “We’re going to be aggressive”

(Image courtesy of Chris Hall/BroncosTV) Remind me to ever get on Joe May‘s bad side.  Otherwise, I could end up looking like the Chiefs’ Tony Moeaki. Chiseled Broncos’ middle linebacker Joe Mays has a 250-pound frame and the reputation of being a “thumper,” entering his third season in Denver, and he has a message for the rest of the NFL. “We’re going to be a lot...

Celebrating Father’s Day in Broncos Country

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there in Broncos Country.  With a large chunk of Western land uninhabited by any NFL teams, Broncos Country extends a lot farther than you might think, so that’s wishing a happy day to a lot of fathers. In fact, Broncos Country (or Nation, depending on who you ask) extends beyond the state of Colorado and even the United States.  This...

Broncos, Manning may be featured in SNF intro

The Denver Broncos are scheduled to appear on Sunday Night Football twice in 2012, with the possibility of a third appearance after Week 11 due to the NFL’s flex scheduling.  With five prime-times games, the Broncos will be buzzed about this season, and NBC may try to capitalize on that. Each year, country music singer Faith Hill opens NBC’s production with “Waiting All...

Willis McGahee: Defense deserved the credit for Broncos’ success last season

The Broncos’ success last season had many fans pleased, but it was also a touchy subject for many of the team’s players. A lot of people quietly felt that the team’s defense is what carried them to victories even though Tim Tebow received most of the attention, headlines, and credit. Willis McGahee certainly agrees. “As a player just sitting back and watching you have to...

D.J. Williams Shares Playbook With Twitter Followers

Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams came under fire recently for tweeting a picture of Denver's defensive playbook. Williams showed his fans Denver's new iPad playbook with paper and pencil next to it, explaining that he prefers drawing out plays to his iPad playbook. The picture showed a play called "Sink Sam 1 Tite" with multiple formation adjustments.  Some...

Can Peyton pass as well as he leads?

As Peyton Manning begins to reinvent himself at 36 years old, trading a horseshoe on his helmet for an entire horse, it's easy to distinguish Manning the leader from Manning the passer. Through the high walls that separate the Denver Broncos practice fields and facility parking lot, the first voice a visitor hears is Manning's -- firm, familiar, not quite a southern drawl...

NFL to make coaches game film available to fans

Confession: I have a source that has provided me with certain NFL game film for years. Not unfiltered access, but enough to get a different perspective on the games. I can tell you that game film and what you see on your TV is totally different. While this info has flown under the radar, I would suggest fans take advantage of this before the NFL changes their mind. Spotted...
