Raiders Sign their 4th Draft Pick, add an O-Linemen
Reggie Mckenzie continued his aggressive push to lock up and close the book on the Oakland Raider’s 2012 draft class. The team announced the signing of 4th round draft pick Miles Burris. He is the 4th of 6 draftee’s on the Raider’s roster to be signed in just the last two days. As I mentioned [...]
Chad Johnson was cut because of his low “football I.Q.” & more in NFL Daily Digest
NFL Daily Digest: 6-8-2012
C’mon Chad: It seems that Chad Johnson was released because he is not smart enough to do what the Patriots need him to do according to the Boston Globe. He apparently lacked the “football I.Q.” to get it...

Oakland Raiders New Defense
What’s up RaiderNation? Well, last week we spoke about the offensive juggernaut that is developing on the Raiders. This week I thought I would talk about the new defense that will be on the field this year. As we all are quite aware, the defense was our Achilles heal last year, folding in many games [...]
Denarius Moore is the Raiders #1 receiver?
According to the Contra County Times, it is Denarius Moore and not Darrius Heyward-Bey who will be the Raiders’ #1 receiver next season. This might sound strange because Heyward-Bey led the team in receiving by a large margin last season (64/975/4 as opposed to 33/618/5). However, Moore was just a rookie and played just 13 games.
He also actually outgained Heyward-Bey down the...
Raiders’ Stefen Wisniewski played all of his rookie season with a torn labrum
A 2nd round pick in 2011, Stefen Wisniewski didn’t have the best rookie year for the Oakland Raiders in 2011, but he had an excuse. According to a report by the Oakland Tribune this season, Wisniewski played the entirety of last season with a torn labrum. Moving to his natural position, center, and with new offensive coordinator Greg Knapp installing a zone blocking scheme he fits...
Mike Goodson working with the 1st team at Raiders OTAs
Mike Goodson didn’t get a carry last season, but he has some experience and he’s still young, so the Raiders traded a reserve offensive lineman to get him from the Carolina Panthers. Now he is getting the bulk of the 1st team reps in OTAs at running back. This is not an indictment on Darren McFadden, who is simply absent while leading a youth football camp, but it is something...

The Raiders have re-signed DT Desmond Bryant, the club announced Wednesday. The 6-5, 290-pound Bryant set career-highs in tackles (35) and sacks (five) in 2011. He appeared in all 16 games, making the first 10 starts of his pro career. In three NFL seasons, the 26-year-old Bryant has notched 88 tackles and 7.5 sacks. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. Bryant, who played collegiately...
2012 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Raiders WR Denarius Moore
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="594" caption="Raiders WR Denarius Moore is a fantasy football sleeper in 2012."][/caption]
There are a number of things that can classify a player as a fantasy football sleeper; it can be a player who has produced but had limited opportunities or a guy, who's raw but has the talent to excel and...
Digesting another Raiders OTA
Media were allowed into view a Raiders OTA again this week and, after some time to digest the story-lines and sift through all of the information, TFDS will attempt to pull out the pieces that are likely to affect the team.
As with most sessions this time of year, we must take much of the camp with a grain of salt. Again, the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) strictly prohibits...
Raiders Won't Give Up 1st Roud Pick To Bengals In Carson Palmer Trade
The Raiders said today that they will not have to give up more than a 2012 first-round pick and 2013 second-rounder for quarterback Carson Palmer. Previously, it was believed that Oakland would also have to give up a 2013 first-rounder instead of a second-rounder to the Bengals if Palmer led the Raiders to the AFC Championship next season but there is no chance of an upgrade. A...
Terrelle Pryor motivated by his time with Al Davis

Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor was the late Al Davis’ final draft pick before he passed away. He made it clear that he cherishes the little time he was able to spend with Davis.
Pryor says that being the last pick of Davis’s life drives him, because he doesn’t want to be a bust in the end.
“That drives me,” Pryor said. “Because the last pick...

NFL Mt. Rushmore-Oakland Raiders
Every NFL Franchise has it’s own pantheon of football gods. That group of players who are not only historic in terms of talent, but even more than that, these are the players who you have to talk about when you tell the story of your team. This is part of a 32 article series where I tell you who I would put among that elite group. For this, it’s Mt. Rushmore. 4 players only....
